We will also be electing three delegates to Convention; these delegates will be involved in voting for the next Bishop of Western New York.

2026 Stewardship Campaign- Tell Out My Soul!

Our 2026 Stewardship Campaign has started and we will be mailing out pledge cards in a few weeks, to be returned by Dec 14. We will be hearing from several parishioners in our campaign this year. As you listen to them, think about the inspiration they receive from God and how their soul transforms those inspirations into something tangible!

Pete's Pet Pantry needs your support

Our pet pantry has grown exponentially in the last few years. We are now at a critical time due to lack of funds and diminishing donations. We may need to make some drastic changes in how we operate and much food we can contribute to our neighbors. Please consider supporting this Good Shepherd ministry in honor of Pete or in loving memory of beloved pets.

If you wish to donate for Christmas flowers, envelopes are available in the pews. You may also just put "Christmas Flowers" on the memo line of your check and let the office know if the flowers are in memory of or in honor of anyone. Please have that information to the office by Friday, December 19 to be included in the Christmas bulletin.

It is our custom to donate half our Christmas offering to charity. This year, we have chosen St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food. They rely on donations for the majority of their funding. We will have special envelopes available for the Christmas Offering but you can also donate by indicating "Christmas Offering" on the memo line of your check.

Siblings in the Lord,
The Ken Perry Food pantry continues to be well served by a growing number of volunteers. Right now we are short on canned vegetables. If you could either bring some in Sunday or put a check marked Ken Perry Vegetable Drive in the plate that would be a great help.

Good Shepherd T-shirts still available:

There are a limited number of t-shirts still available in the following sizes: Small, Medium, Large and XL. The cost is $16. Please contact Elaine Richau, Wegmom54@aol.com if interested.

Want to make a difference for a great charity that will COST YOU NOTHING?

We can make a difference by saving our beverage tabs! Ronald McDonald House located on West Ferry in the City of Buffalo gets CASH for TABS! This helps them fund their support of families whose children are going thru cancer treatment.

Please consider saving your beverage, soup, tuna or cat food can tabs. They can be placed in a Solo cup under your sink or in a Zip Lock bag. We have placed a few of the Ronald McDonald cardboard houses in the Narthex and at the coffee hour buffet table. We also have one in the food pantry area, so folks who are benefiting from either the Food Pantry or Pet Food Pantry can "GIVE BACK" without any output other than saving their recyclable TABS! (Bob Martinson pointed out to me that our dear, late Ken Perry mentioned that THOSE METAL TABS have the highest percentage of recyclable material! The BEST news is that they can help a great cause in supporting those families going thru childhood cancer.

We will be saving these over the next several months and they will be turned in as we accumulate them. HELP US HELP OTHERS!

Online Donations

As our Diocese is no longer providing a way to donate online to Good Shepherd without charging the credit card processing fees, please consider a feature most banks provide. It may go by other names, but the Bill Pay Function would be a way to send payments to Good Shepherd with no fees, and payments can be set up to be recurring. We have several parishioners who make monthly donations to Pete's Pet Food Pantry and for their Pledge. If you are interested in pursuing this option, you go to your online bank site and look for that option.  Speak to Pat Lalonde if you have any questions.

Adult Christian Education

This Fall will will again have our Christian Education after Coffee Hour.  The topic will be the Nicene Creed in this 1700 anniversary year!
Session 7: We Believe in one Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church

Discernment Committee

We are creating a committee to go through a process of discernment with Jesse Pyle as he explores the priesthood. This is a six-nine month commitment for about twelve hours total and will help everyone discern who takes part.  Please speak to Father Mike or Mother Elizabeth if you are interested.

Counter Needed

We are in need of one additional person to count donations after the 10:30 service once per month. Training will be provided. Please contact Elaine Richau at wegmom54@aol.comif interested.

If anyone presents themselves as representing ICE or any other organization of that type please call for Father Mike or Mother Elizabeth and do not invite them into any area of the parish not currently open.

Keep saving your Dash's receipts. They allow us to submit prior year receipts so any old receipts from 2024 are effectively expired going forward. For every $5,000 in receipts we submit, we earn $125.  Even small purchases add up!
